• EDANA International NW Symposium – Lyon, 8-9 June 2022

Successful presentation of EcoCare sustainability research results at EDANA International Nonwoven Symposium (INS) in Lyon, June 8-9, 2022.

EDANA INS had been chosen to present the “Final Event” for “EcoCare”. Dissemination Leader (S. Glathe) was accepted as speaker on “Sustainability Day” (June 8) of the Symposium. R&D (C. Biasutti) and Dissemination Leader (S. Glathe) prepared a booth to present EcoCare and to interact with stakeholders on the 2 days of the symposium.

S. Glathe´s presentation of EcoCare headed a series of raw material presentations as a showcase for application of innovative/sustainable materials. Focus of the June 8 symposium day was on bioplastics, materials/fibers of natural origin, recycling of fibers, composting of fibers.

The news that with EcoCare innovation in period care products on market since 2021, an estimated global annual material reduction of about 900,000 tons could be achieved – which is like the weight of the Golden Gate Bridge – was one of the “wow” results.

The EcoCare booth was crowded and many questions were asked by stakeholders live at Lyon, and visiting online. Several stakeholders also asked about the option for EU co-funding of research projects

Total symposium attendance: Stakeholders from 106 companies/institutes which included: Academical institutes from various countries, professional/technical media, AHP Manufacturers, Nonwoven/Fiber Suppliers, Manufacturing Equipment Suppliers, Chemical Suppliers.

• In 2020 and earlier 2021, no conference or event could be attended due to COVID-19 lock-down and cancellations.

• K-Show – Nov 2019, Düsseldorf, Germany. The conference hosted approx. 225,000 trade visitors from 165 countries, all key players in the plastic industry, such as Basell, Borealis, Sabic, Dow, LG, Clariant, Novamont, Braskem, Granic, Versalis. Key topics were circular economy and responsible handling of plastics. Discussions included dissemination of EcoCare project and goals.

• German Sustainability Congress (GSA) – Düsseldorf, Germany, November 2019
  The congress and its award session are a multi-stakeholder annual event. The award is backed by the German Federal Government and numerous other groups of stakeholders from industry, academia, and civil society. The venue allows up to 2000 participant registrations and is fully booked every year. With eight competitions, more than 1000 applicants and 2000 guests at the awards´ gala, the German Sustainability Award is the most comprehensive of its kind in Europe. The prize aims to promote networking across borders and encourage partnerships as well as motivate all key players to bring about change. It honors best practice examples of how ecological and social progress can be achieved more quickly.

P&G Germany hosted a booth at the GSA 2019 that was dedicated to the P&G projects & research. The EcoCare brochure was displayed at the booth and triggered intensive conversations with visitors.

• Workshop OPEN SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION SPRINT- DESIGN THINKING – Oct/Nov 2019 – Entwicklung nachhaltiger Innovationen bei Konsumgütern, Kosmetik und Lifestyle-Produkten.

This event is part of Hesse´s and Germany´s effort to support the development of sustainable innovations in the consumer goods, cosmetics and lifestyle products´ industry. 3 full-day Workshop Sessions were dedicated to project dissemination and networking with technical and political stakeholders.
